Environment

The Ajax project is at the beginning of its environmental assessment, a rigorous process during which the proposed mine plan is evaluated and refined in order to find solutions that mitigate impacts of the project on the environment.

We are committed to working in consultation with the community, First Nations and government agencies to explore areas of environmental concern, and to developing local policies and procedures that minimize the impact of mining on surrounding areas.  We are already working with environmental experts and consultants to conduct ongoing studies into a number of different environmental areas, and have identified where to focus our initial efforts on finding solutions that mitigate adverse environmental effects.

If, after completing this comprehensive environmental review, the Ajax project is found to have unmitigated environmental and health risks, we will not receive a permit to operate.
